How the FAST reports it

Florida’s FAST Mathematics is a state-specific assessment program aligned to the Florida B.E.S.T. Standards rather than a national framework. The published blueprint organizes results by reporting categories derived from B.E.S.T. domains, with separate blueprints for grades 3-8 FAST Mathematics and the B.E.S.T. Algebra 1 and Geometry EOCs.

Blueprint & weighting

Florida publishes blueprint percentage ranges by reporting category. The 2025-26 fact sheet states each PM event is tied to a blueprint for the full grade-level content, and the test design summary gives approximate item ranges per reporting category; the reporting-category statements note that a minimum of 15% of raw score points should come from each reporting category, with some domains combined when needed.

Two parallel lines are cut by a transversal. A pair of corresponding angles measure (3x+16)°(3x+16)° and (2x+34)°(2x+34)°. What is the measure of each of these angles?

Corresponding angles are congruent: 3x+16=2x+343x+16=2x+34, so x=18x=18. Each angle measures 3(18)+16=70°3(18)+16=70°.

Which expression is equivalent to 108+147\sqrt{108}+\sqrt{147}?

108=363=63\sqrt{108}=\sqrt{36 \cdot 3}=6\sqrt{3} and 147=493=73\sqrt{147}=\sqrt{49 \cdot 3}=7\sqrt{3}. Adding like radical terms gives 63+73=1336\sqrt{3}+7\sqrt{3}=13\sqrt{3}.

If a\Large a and b\Large b are positive, which expression is equivalent to a5b64\Large \sqrt[4]{a^5 b^6}?

Divide each exponent by 4\Large 4: a54b64=a54b32\Large a^{\tfrac{5}{4}} b^{\tfrac{6}{4}} = a^{\tfrac{5}{4}} b^{\tfrac{3}{2}}.

The tension, in newtons, in a certain cable can be estimated by multiplying the length of the cable, in meters, by 2828 and then taking the square root of the product. According to this method, what is the estimated tension, in newtons, in a cable that is 4545 meters long?

The product is 4528=126045 \cdot 28 = 1260. Factor 1260=36351260 = 36 \cdot 35, where 3636 is the largest perfect-square factor. So 1260=3635=635\sqrt{1260} = \sqrt{36 \cdot 35} = 6\sqrt{35}, and 35=5735 = 5 \cdot 7 is square-free.

Which expression is equivalent to 750\sqrt{750}?

750=2530750 = 25 \cdot 30, so 750=2530=530\sqrt{750} = \sqrt{25 \cdot 30} = 5\sqrt{30}, and 30=23530 = 2 \cdot 3 \cdot 5 is square-free.

Two parallel lines are cut by a transversal. Same-side interior angles measure (6x5)°(6x-5)° and (4x+15)°(4x+15)°. What is the value of xx?

Same-side interior angles are supplementary: (6x5)+(4x+15)=180(6x-5)+(4x+15)=180, so 10x+10=18010x+10=180 and x=17x=17.

Which expression is equivalent to 27+48+75\sqrt{27}+\sqrt{48}+\sqrt{75}?

27=33\sqrt{27}=3\sqrt{3}, 48=43\sqrt{48}=4\sqrt{3}, and 75=53\sqrt{75}=5\sqrt{3}. Adding gives 33+43+53=1233\sqrt{3}+4\sqrt{3}+5\sqrt{3}=12\sqrt{3}.
